A FICO alternative for governed business decisions
FICO Platform runs credit, fraud and customer decisions for banks and large institutions. Baruxa is the neutral decision layer between your data, your AI agents and your operational systems, for any business from a single store to an enterprise. It does no credit scoring or fraud detection, and it is in private beta. If those are your decisions, choose FICO.
Why choose Baruxa over FICO for operational decisions
For the decisions every company makes: cash, collections, purchasing, stock and margin. Not for credit or fraud.
AI works in both directions
Ask questions through the optional Copilot, on Claude, GPT, Gemini or a self-hosted model. Or plug any agent in through the MCP server: it reads exact metrics and requests actions that Baruxa governs.
It connects your tools and cleans the data
Connectors for Shopify, Stripe, Meta Ads, Klaviyo and more are in certification during the beta. The Data Refinery profiles each source, matches customers across systems and standardises emails, phones, currencies and tax IDs.
Nothing runs without a check and a record
Each playbook suggests, waits for one-click approval or runs within budget limits, and pauses if its data degrades. An append-only ledger records who approved what, when and on which data.
FICO vs Baruxa, side by side
Eight criteria a CFO or COO would check.
| Criterion | FICO Platform | Baruxa |
|---|---|---|
| Primary focus | Credit, fraud and customer-lifecycle decisions for banks and other large institutions; 92% of fiscal 2025 revenue came from financial services. Sources 1, 6 | Governed decisions for any business, from a single store to an enterprise. No credit scoring, underwriting or fraud detection. |
| Connecting and cleaning data | Data validation and lineage from source to outcome. Shopify, WooCommerce or ad-platform connectors are not listed on its public pages (Oct 2026). Sources 8, 9 | Connectors for Shopify, WooCommerce, Stripe, Meta Ads, Klaviyo and more, in certification; a built-in Data Refinery and a Trust Score per metric. |
| Decision logic | DMN models, decision flows, rulesets, decision tables and scorecards, plus Xpress optimization solvers. Sources 2, 3 | Rules, alerts and six built-in playbooks; a what-if simulator rather than a solver. |
| Role of AI | “AI-first decisioning infrastructure”: Focused Foundation Models, a generative-AI assistant and pre-built agents. Sources 2 | Both directions: an optional Copilot on Claude, GPT, Gemini or a self-hosted model, and an MCP server for any agent. Also works without AI. |
| Approval and audit trail | Assets, changes and decisions are versioned and approved; every decision is logged, traced and explained. Sources 1, 2 | Suggest, one-click approval or autonomous within budget limits, per playbook; automatic pause on degraded data; an append-only ledger. |
| Deployment | SaaS or on-premises; FICO Platform runs on AWS. Sources 6, 7 | Hosted and tenant-isolated. Enterprise: dedicated, private-VPC or own-cloud, SSO (SAML/OIDC) and SCIM. No security certification yet. |
| Pricing | Not publicly listed: multi-year, usage-based subscriptions, often with contracted minimums; a free, size-limited Xpress Community license. Sources 4, 6 | Published: Starter $99/month, Growth $299/month. Larger plans are annual and quote-based. |
| Maturity | Decades in production; a Leader in 2026 Gartner and IDC evaluations of decision-intelligence platforms. Sources 1, 9 | Private beta with no production customers; general availability planned before December 2026. |
Choose FICO if
- You decide on credit, underwriting, fraud or collections. Sources 3, 5
- You need on-premises deployment or bank-scale throughput. Sources 1, 6
- You want decades of production use behind the platform. Sources 1
Frequently asked questions
What is the best alternative to FICO?
It depends on the decision. If you score credit, underwrite loans or detect fraud, keep FICO: Baruxa does none of that. If your decisions are about cash, purchasing, stock or margin, in a business of any size, Baruxa is the better fit: it scores how reliable each metric is and acts only with your approval or within your limits. It is in private beta, with general availability planned before December 2026.
How much do FICO and Baruxa cost?
FICO doesn't publish FICO Platform prices; its annual report describes multi-year, usage-based subscriptions, often with contracted minimums. Baruxa publishes Starter at $99 and Growth at $299 a month; larger plans are annual and quote-based. Founding offers apply during the beta.
Is Baruxa ready for production?
Not yet. Baruxa is in private beta, with general availability planned before December 2026 and no production customers. Connectors for Shopify, WooCommerce, Stripe, Meta Ads, Google Ads and Klaviyo, among others, are being certified with each provider.
Does Baruxa need AI to work?
No, but it works with AI in both directions. An optional Copilot runs on Claude, GPT, Gemini or a self-hosted model, and any agent can use the MCP server to read exact metrics and request actions that Baruxa governs. The numbers always come from the deterministic core; no-AI mode sends nothing to model providers.
How does Baruxa handle data and security?
Data is isolated per tenant, with MFA, custom roles, revocable sessions and SCIM 2.0. Enterprise adds dedicated, private-VPC or own-cloud deployment, SAML or OIDC single sign-on and a self-hosted LLM option. Baruxa holds no security certification, such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001, today.
Can I use FICO and Baruxa together?
Yes, on different decisions. Baruxa does no credit scoring, underwriting or fraud detection, so those stay in FICO while cash, stock and margin run in Baruxa. Baruxa has no FICO connector; it exports its Gold tables and ledger to your warehouse.
